We’ve made it to 2026. Things have been quiet over here since the end of the 2025 MLB season. Baseball is a great distraction (especially these days) so I’ve had to look for something to occupy my idle time as to not completely explode and/or collapse with frustration, anger, despair, etc…..

With just a few hours here and there to devote to designing something for fun, I didn’t want to get bogged down with a massive project that would suffer from dropping in and out. Unfortunately, that’s kinda what happened anyway because I’m me. BUT it ended up still being something I could drop in and out of. Presenting the 21st Century MVP set

A unique design for every season since 2000, featuring the American League and National League MVPs. The idea here was to make a base-like design rather than special insert-like design, but with a notation of MVP accolade, similar to what NBA Hoops was doing in the early 90s. It’s basically an excuse to make a lot of base designs while using a variety of different players and teams. Though there are a lot of duplicates.

Design-wise, these run the gamut from modern to junk wax to shiny to everything in between. Some are heavily-influenced by other sets. Some are straight from the old dome. Looking at them just before uploading everything here, I see a few that are begging to be tweaked but I think I need to get these out into the world after slowly chipping away at this this thing since October. We’ll see if this keeps me satiated until spring training.
